MONCTON – Skills Canada New Brunswick is thrilled to launch the 2021 Provincial Skills Competitions, which will run April 19th - 23rd. While restrictions imposed by COVID-19 have changed the way competitions will look this year, the organization is eager to host a number of virtual competitions at both the secondary and post-secondary level.
In alignment with the health and safety guidelines as outlined by New Brunswick’s Department of Health, there is absolutely no travel between schools this year in order to prioritize the health and safety of all participants.
Competitions will run in the following areas:

Welding
Robotics
Fashion Technology
TV / Video Production
Public Speaking
Post-Secondary
Welding
Carpentry
Hairstyling
Aesthetics
CNC Machining
“We are incredibly happy to be able to run competitions again this year”, says SCNB Board President, John Landry. “While there is still a great amount of uncertainty as to how the coming months will look, we are hopeful and confident that a virtual approach to our provincial skills competitions will both provide a great opportunity for students while keeping all risks at bay”.
The Skills Canada Virtual National Competition is set for June 15, 2021. More information about the national skills competitions can be found at www.skillscompetencescanada.com.

MONCTON - Compétences Canada Nouveau-Brunswick est ravi de lancer les compétitions provinciales de compétences 2021, qui se dérouleront du 19 au 23 avril. Bien que les restrictions imposées par le COVID-19 aient modifié l'aspect des compétitions cette année, l'organisme est impatient d'organiser un certain nombre de compétitions virtuelles aux niveaux secondaire et postsecondaire.
Conformément aux directives en matière de santé et de sécurité énoncées par le ministère de la santé du Nouveau-Brunswick, il n'y aura absolument aucun déplacement entre les écoles cette année afin de privilégier la santé et la sécurité de tous les participant

"Nous sommes incroyablement heureux de pouvoir organiser des competitions à nouveau cette année", déclare John Landry, président du conseil d'administration de la SCNB. "Bien qu'il y ait encore beaucoup d'incertitude quant à la façon dont les mois à venir se dérouleront, nous avons bon espoir et sommes confiants qu'une approche virtuelle de nos concours provinciaux de compétences offrira une excellente occasion aux étudiants tout en écartant les risques.”
